2012 Freightliner Cascadia

Phinatic

This is my truck that I got in February of last year. As you can probably see I am an independent contractor with Prime Inc. When I ordered this truck I debated on what color to get for awhile, and finally decided to get a yellow one again. I was a bit concerned that the Miami Dolphins scheme wouldn't work out all that well with the yellow truck, but it worked out much better than I had hoped. I will add some more pictures of the truck as time goes by, but as for now here she is. Phinatic, my 2012 Freightliner Cascadia.

9/11 Memorial at Bosselman T/S

A piece of steel from the World Trade Center finds a home in Nebraska.

9/11 Memorial at Bosselman T/S

It's not exactly where one would expect to find a 9/11 memorial, especially one with a piece of a steel beam from the WTC, but you can find this on display at the Bosselman Truck Stop aka the Flying J in Grand Island Nebraska. It's a pretty impressive display they gave there, with letters certifying the authenticity (see the gallery below) and expert opinions on which part of the building this particular piece came from. For those who travel out that way, I recommend stopping by and seeing it first hand. For those who do not, you will have to settle for the pictures below.

One sweet Pete.

LimeLight at Joplin 44

For those of you who aren't familiar with them, the Moon family owns several large full service truck stops across the country. Among them are the Walcott Iowa 80, the Kenly 95, and the Joplin 44. You will know when you are at one of their stops based on the massive parking lots (the Iowa 80 is the World's Largest), the chrome shops, and (in some cases) the souped up trucks inside the building. They recently remodeled the Joplin location and added this lime green Peterbilt into the mix. I love this rig. Check it out.

Lincoln Memorial in Laramie Wyoming

Trucking through Wyoming.

Lincoln Memorial in Laramie Wyoming

This historic monument lies 10 miles SE of Laramie on Interstate 80 at the edge of a rest area. It stands at summit near Sherman Hill, and marks the highest point on I-80. It is 48.5 feet tall. Interstate 80 follows the path of the first transcontinental railroad line. Completed in 1927, the Lincoln Highway, the prototype transcontinental route designed for automobile traffic, stimulated highway improvement. It later became federally marked U.S. Highway 30. In the 1950-1960s Interstate 80 was built to carry east-west traffic through Nebraska. Though I-80 parallels the Lincoln Highway route in many counties, the older route continues as a part of the federal highway network.
